The UK’s leading designer and manufacturer of power and distribution transformers for major utilities and power companies has invested significantly in equipment, software and training to enable it to bring this latest additional service to its customers.
Winder Electrical’s design studio now comprises four fully qualified CAD designers, allowing the company to produce highly realistic models of customers’ specifications. In turn this will help to create a seamless production sequence and allows engineers to prove designs through simulated destructive testing prior to manufacture. All parties are then fully aware of what is being manufactured, and an accurate rendering of the finished product becomes available at the earliest stages of the production process.
Based on the highly acclaimed Solidworks CAD suite, Winder Electrical’s facility produces highly accurate, 3D colour renders of every product that the company manufactures, including power and distribution transformers, switchgear, substations and cooler bank replacements.
Commenting on the new CAD suite, general manager Paul Matthews said; “We are delighted with the launch of our 3D CAD design studio. The benefits it brings both to our customers and also our own workflow are incredible. Our customers can now see for themselves exactly what we will be producing for them, and these advanced drawings make it much easier for our internal teams to brief each other on what is required.”
