Leeds based power generation specialists Winder Electrical has secured a three year, framework agreement worth in the region of £3million to supply power transformers to United Utilities.
With an option to extend the contract to five years Winder Electrical, one of Leeds' fastest growing manufacturing businesses, will be responsible for supplying power transformers which will help to provide electricity for most of the North West of England.
The Stanningley company entered a tender process involving twelve companies, and was chosen as a result of its competitive pricing, can-do approach and track record.
Winder Electrical General Manager Paul Matthews will be in charge of the project, and is delighted with the new contract, as he explains; "This latest success is testament to the commitment and hard word of our team. Our plans for growth depend on our ability to compete at these highest levels, and I think this win shows how far Winder Electrical has come recently.
"Our aim now is to continue to add to our blue chip customer base, and we are really looking forward to working alongside United Utilities over the next three years."
Rob Graham, projects and contracts co-ordinator at United Utilities, is also pleased with the outcome, as he comments; "So far we have found Winder Electrical to be very easy to deal with, friendly, but above all with the skill set to deliver our requirements on time and to budget. Our customers demand quality and value throughout our business, and when it comes to supplying power transformers Winder Electrical satisfies that demand."
